As a Duty Tasking Manager (DTM), you will take charge of overseeing and leading our Communications Centre and flight operation functions across LifeFlight and its affiliated entities. This full-time role, situated in Brisbane’s CBD, entails working on a rotating roster (including an on-call component) to support our round-the-clock Emergency Aeromedical Service operations.

About the Role

•    Supervise and lead day-to-day operations in an aeromedical EMS and SAR environment.
•    Oversee rostering and training to ensure they meet business needs.
•    Foster successful outcomes through proactive leadership, ensuring compliance with relevant CASA, industry, and company regulations.
•    Assist the General Manager of Operations, completing operational duties to meet commercial contracts and service level agreements.

About You

With demonstrated previous experience working in a high-pressure scheduling environment, you will also have the following skills and experience:
•    Proven leadership skills with the ability to support a team towards achieving key outcomes.
•    Proven robust decision-making skills with the capacity to make effective choices that uphold organisational integrity and deliver excellent outcomes.
•    A focus on maintaining standards and developing your team to be their best selves with a passion for best practice learning and development. 
•    Willingness to carry out on-call duties including after-hours advice and problem-solving
•    An understanding of contingency and business continuity planning 
•    Management of contractual relationships, including stakeholder engagement and reporting requirements 
•    Knowledge of aircraft operations, flight crew duty limits and flight planning would be advantageous
•    Excellent customer service skills and a focus on continual improvement
•    Ability to work independently, make effective decisions, and be solutions-focused
•    Strong communicator, ability to provide clear and concise messages to a variety of stakeholders
•    Outstanding relationship-building ability – this role has contact with all points of the business
•    Experience using Microsoft Suite and rostering systems, with the ability to learn new software quickly and accurately
