Deputy Chief Aircrew Officer

We are seeking Expressions of Interest in the newly created role of Deputy Chief Aircrew Officer. This Brisbane-based position is pivotal in assisting the Chief Aircrew Officer (CAO) in the management of Aircrew Officers, Rescue Crew Officers, and Medical Transport Specialists, ensuring safe, effective, and efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Chief Aircrew Officer in ensuring that training, supervision, and procedures for Aircrew Officers, Rescue Crew Officers, and Medical Transport Specialists support safe operations in compliance with aviation regulations.
  • Develop and monitor crew standards, systems, and procedures to ensure operational safety under the Air Operator's Certificate (AOC).
  • Provide rostering advice to ensure availability of suitable crew members, managing fatigue restrictions, leave, and crew records.
  • Collaborate with the Training and Checking Team to develop and implement training programs for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct training and checking of company Aircrew Officers, Rescue Crew Officers, and Medical Transport Specialists, including casual crew members.
  • Develop and implement operational equipment requirements in coordination with the Chief Aircrew Officer.
  • Oversee equipment maintenance in collaboration with the ALSE manager.
  • Maintain operational equipment capabilities to support safe and efficient operations under the AOC.
  • Implement and participate in the Company's safety management, workplace health & safety, and risk management systems.

Skills and Qualifications:

  •  A minimum of 5 years’ SAR/ EMS experience
  • Understanding of CASA rules and regulations, particularly CASR Parts 133/138
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated proficiency in developing and implementing Operational policies and procedures
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Commitment to safety and operational excellence

Location:

The position is Brisbane based however, there may be flexibility for the applicant to operate from their home location, with the expectation that you will attend Brisbane when required.
